Be like water.
This was a line Prince used to say to the musicians that worked with him to help them get into their most unique and creative states. It was a simple phrase that stuck with lots of them many years later.
When working with someone of his stature it was easy for them to become overwhelmed and fearful working alongside him. However they were there for their unique skills and performance. Prince didn't need them just to play instruments, he famously is said to have been able to play almost every instrument.
He needed them. Their style. Their voice.
Just as the world needs you. Your uniqueness. Your voice.
So go out there and be like water.
